Asus has launched ZenFone 9 AI2202-16G256G-BK Android Smartphone in the US online. It costs $799.99 in the US and is now available to pre-order online from Amazon US. This model comes with 16GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. Check out the pricing and availability here ( affiliate link ).
While most Android smartphones these days ship with big 6.4-inch+ displays, the ASUS ZenFone 9 AI2202-16G256G-BK has a smaller 5.9-inch screen offering a compact form factor. Even though this is compact, the inwards of this smartphone are high-end. It is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 Mobile Platform and has Qualcomm Adreno 730 Graphics GPU.
ASUS ZenFone 9 AI2202-16G256G-BK features a 5.9-inch, Samsung-made AMOLED display featuring a 120hz refresh rate. It can go up to 1100 nits maximum brightness. The display is protected with Corning Gorilla Glass Victus and is HDR 10 and HDR10+ certified. It can output 100% DCI-P3 color gamut.
Asus has equipped Zenfone 9 2022 with 2 cameras at the back. The main camera houses a 50 MP Sony IMX766 flagship sensor which is a 1/1.56″ large sensor. It uses Quad Bayer technology outputting 12.5 MP photos with a 2.0 µm large effective pixel size. For smoother videos and better photos in low light, it has got a 6-Axis Hybrid Gimbal Stabilizer. The aperture of the lens is F1.9. It offers a 23.8 mm equivalent focal length in 35 mm film camera terms.
The second camera on the back of the Zenfone 9 is an ultra-wide-angle shooter which houses a 12MP Sony IMX363 flagship sensor ( 1/2.55″ sensor with 1.4 µm pixel size ). It has an F2.2 aperture lens and offers a 113 ̊ field of view. It supports Dual PDAF autofocus and can take 4 cm macro shots.
Photo, Video, Portrait, Pro (RAW file support, up to 32 seconds long exposure), Pro video, Light Trail(Beta), Panorama, Night, Timelapse and Slo-mo are the various camera modes available on this Asus Flagship smartphone.
On the front, Asus uses a 12 MP Sony IMX663 flagship sensor ( 1/2.93″ sensor ) with an F2.45 aperture lens. It supports Dual PDAF auto-focus as well offering better selfies.
The rear camera can record 8K UHD (7680 x 4320) video at 24 fps with EIS. It can also shoot 4K UHD (3840 x 2160) video at 30 / 60 fps with EIS. 4K UHD at 120 fps slow-mo recording is supported as well.
Asus Zenfone 9 comes with Integrated WiFi 6/6E which lets you connect to the new 6Ghz networks. To connect wireless accessories, you get Bluetooth 5.2. Asus has powered this smartphone with a 4300mAh (typ) battery and provides a USB power adapter (30.0 W) in the box. You also get a USB-C to USB-C cable in the box.
